Orange Kit
A building is a complex system made up of numerous sub-systems structured in multi-layered hierarchies. Taking time to understand the complexity and interdependence of building is crucial to maintain adaptable and avoid additional costs.
We created a modular kit of parts platform and subsequently, several prototypes were designed and produced in stealth mode with the emphasis on design, standardization and limiting the number of components. Key to Orange Kit are smart interfaces and add-ons, choice of materials, detachability, reusability, high quality, and longevity.
Orange Kit parts can be sourced from, or made to order by, our co-makers or regular suppliers. This means no high upfront investment in manufacturing facilities and easy and quick upscale potential.
By delivering prefabricated, easy-to-install “plug and play” components to the construction sites, we created easy to transport and assemble system to cope with the increasing cost and industry’s labor shortage.

Orange Kit allows buildings to be taken apart, to move and refit. This agile scalable way of architecture is the solution to multi-family housing and creates less waste.
MODULARIZATION
To create configurable designs, products should be flexible enough to allow for adding, removing. or replacing of elements without impact across the product. Functions, features, and performance levels are encapsulated in individual modules and the modules themselves are protected from each other by interfaces. The more modular the product is, the easier to configure.
Product configuration is the foundation of mass customization. TMB uses modularization and configurable product platforms as tools to reduce building complexity by configuring a building.

The Orange Kit sustainable demountable superstructure can configure different levels of vertical and lateral load-bearing capacity. Many of the components of the platform are standardized and shared across the entire product catalog for volume consolidation.
